Yes! MacMillan is a registered 501c3 non profit organization. All donations, monetary or in-kind, are tax deductible. A donation receipt can be created upon request. Please email treasurer@macmillanpb.org if you would like a receipt or have any questions about your donation.

Financial donations will first and foremost be used to host a wonderful event to mark the band's 25th anniversary. Any monetary donations past the event cost, or in-kind donations for our silent auction, will go to fund all aspects of the MacMillan organization. This includes purchasing equipment to ensure our bands can put on their best performances, funding our bands to compete at the World Pipe Band Championships, and investing in instructor time and student scholarships for our new MacMillan Youth Band.

We welcome all sponsorship opportunities! We have several options to sponsor or partner with the band:

1. MacMillan Youth Pipe Band: we are seeking sponsors and partners to develop the next generation of young pipers and drummers. There are several opportunities, including scholarships for financially disadvantaged students, purchasing a student’s first practice chanter or drum sticks/pad, or sponsoring an instructor to teach our budding students.

2. Sponsor a trip to Scotland: each year our band travels to Glasgow to compete in the World Pipe Band Championships, the largest pipe band event in the world attended by thousands of visitors each year from across the globe. This can be the first time some members in our band go to Scotland. Every time, it leaves a memorable impression and a yearning to ‘haste ye’ back’! 

3. Sponsor a Workshop: being a musician is a process of constant learning. We continue to invest in our members’ learning via regular workshops. The band will bring instructors from across the US, Canada, and Scotland to instruct our bands, and we’d like to expand this opportunity to bands across the mid-Atlantic region by partnering with an organization passionate about education. 

4. Band Sponsorship: if you are passionate about our vision of nurturing and growing the Highland Arts in the Washington DC region, we invite you to sponsor the whole MacMillan United and become a partner with us.
