The MacMillan Pipe Band is one of several groups performing at the 35th Annual National Capital Area Scottish Festival tomorrow at the Northwood Center in Silver Spring, Md. The festival is the annual fund raiser for the Rockville High School Pipe Band. The MacMillan Pipe Band is primarily made up of alumni from the Peary and Rockville High School pipe bands.

Competing against three other bands, the MacMillan Pipe Band placed 3rd at the Southern Maryland Celtic Festival. The Grade 3 results are:

» 1st: Carnegie-Mellon University Pipe Band
» 2nd: Allegheny & District Pipe Band
» 3rd: MacMillan Pipe Band
» 4th: Lehigh Valley Pipe Band

The MacMillan Pipe Band will compete as a Grade 3 band at the Southern Maryland Celtic Festival in St. Leonard, Md., this Saturday. This is the band’s first competition for the 2003 season.

The festival, now in its 25th year, will be held at the Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum. Directions to the festival are available from its website.
